Hey, I’m Jakob,
an 18-year-old solo sailor from Austria. I first came in touch with sailing when I was 6 years old through my dad who sailed a small catamaran alone when he was young. Soon I started reading books about circumnavigators without really understanding most of it. But I was fascinated by that thing called sailing. When my family and I were on vacation on a small island I spent hours in the island’s little harbor mesmerized by the beauty of the sailboats moored there. I couldn’t help but imagine what it would be like to set out on the open ocean and explore the world beyond the horizon. Fast forward a few years and I’m now sailing solo on Wolf, a 31 ft boat.
